A Slice Only Groundskeeper Willie Could Love

2004_04_22_HaggisPizza.jpg

The latest idea in fusion pizza has just come out of Scotland. Cosmo Ltd. is working with MacSween of Edinburgh to develop a haggis pizza. Yes, you read that correctly. From the Daily Record:

[Cosmo] Owner Cosmo Tamburro said: "We are proud of our Scottish base and decided this was a delicious way to merge the two cultures.

"We use our margarita pizza and add haggis and just a pinch of fresh parsley.

"People might even start enjoying our haggis pizzas for Burns' Supper."

Head chef Collin Mckenzie said: "People ask if I will put neeps and tatties on it but that would-be going too far."

Hey, Mr. Mckenzie, we think haggis pizza is "going too far," but who are we to say?

It could have been worse:

pizza... HAGGIS.

"We fill the boiled sheep's stomach with oregano, tomatoes, pepperoni slices and grated parmesan..."

;-P

i had haggis several times while in Scotland, delicious. Probably would not be too disimilar to a sausage pie, though obviously the meat content is a whole different breed.

I would it it, no problem.

I have just eaten one of Cosmo's so called "Italscot" haggis pizzas and feel that being Scottish myself I would have to rate this one as "shite" on this occassion, please understand that I mean this in the most positive way
