Pot Pizza

2004_05_06_MaryJane.jpgLooks like there's some pizza-related "high" jinks going on in Burnbank, Scotland. A family over there ordered a chicken-and-pepperoni pizza recently but got a topping they didn't ask for: a scattering of hash. From the ic Lanarkshire:

The McArdle family last week ordered the pizza from the Bombay Tandoori at 255 Glasgow Road, Burnbank, and became suspicious of a black substance that had been scattered on top.

The takeaway, however, denied that the suspected presence of the drug had anything to do with them ...

The pizza was delivered to the McArdles' home at 68 Comely Bank, Hillhouse, last Tuesday evening. Stephanie McArdle (16) and her boyfriend Daniel Towden (16) began to feel slightly sick after eating around half of it.

...Initial tests that were carried out at Hamilton Police Office detected the presence of cannabis.

Stephanie's father Steven McArdle said: "The pizza arrived quite soon after we ordered it. "Daniel was suspicious of the black stuff that was on it. At that stage he was the only one of us who had any idea of what it might be...."

Oh yeah, he was so suspicious of the substance that HE ATE IT and failed to alert anyone else. Mr. McArdle, we suggest you keep a watchful eye on young Mr. Towden.

This story reminds us of a funny pizza–stoner headline from the Onion: "Everyone Involved In Pizza's Preparation, Delivery, Purchase Extremely High" (Onion Premium access required; who knew the Onion had premium access?!) As Homer Simpson once said, "It's funny 'cause it's true."

For those of you who want to make pot-topped pizza, teaheads offer some advice.
