Slice Gets Props From ABC7 Tech Guru Sree

ABC7's tech guru, Sreenath Sreenivasan, perhaps more widely known as Sree, mentioned Slice in his Useful Sites column today. We don't know if he also mentioned us on air, because his segment airs Thursdays at 6:45 a.m., and this morning Slice editors were either sleeping, on a train, or monkeying with a motorbike.

So here's a big WELCOME! to any new readers coming from the ABC7 site. And a bit THANK YOU! to Sree for giving us a shout out.

And can anyone tell us if they did indeed learn about Slice from TV. If so, I'm so sorry I missed Mr. Sreenivasan's segment!

UPDATE: Mr. Sreenivasan did mention us on air. And he wanted to give us a heads-up, he said, but we didn't have any contact info on the site—a minor (but very important) detail that got overlooked in our move from webhost to webhost and MT2 to MT3.

welcome back. 6:351. like most folks, you go to a hand trusted web site. >> google all of the time. >> tv gossip sites. >> that is true. but tech guru sree says you may be missing out on some cool sites, so we are going to get a sneak peek. hi, sereer. it has been forever since we seen. >> fun stuff we'll see here right now. the first is a site called coupon cabin. you have this problem when you are shopping on line and say, enter discount code and you don't have one. go on to site and more than a thousand stores on-line where you can get code, sometimes it is free shipping. sdiems it is a discount and i was shop forge something the other day, i saved $10 on shipping just by going on here and getting a code and entering it on the other site at coupon cabin.com. the next site we have for you is a site that is important because it will help you tell if somebody is trying to hack into the computer and whether your computer is open to attack. it is called hacker watch.org/probe. all you do is go on there and hit a buton and it will test your computer. probe it to see if any of the ports are open and if anyone can break into it. so it is hacker watch.org. that is a good site. here is a site that will help you help schools around the area. it is called i love schools.com. and this allows teachers to list things that they would like donations for. you know, that teachers spend their own money for supplies and materials. i went in here, there are more than 73 schools and just from new jersey, for example, and i went to one school here, right in new jersey. it is central high school. mr. edwards would like a digital camera for a student. dictionaries and you can make a donation. directly to that teacher. so that is a great site. i love schools. and now, heres a site if you have children, you will really like. it is called mother goose rocks.com. and what this does is they have taken mother goose songs and really made it fun and exciting and rock music. [music] you can play and make your own movies and videos on here. it is a mother goose rocks. and then, finally, our producer -- >> always a biggie. >> this site, loves it, sliceny.com. everything you wanted to know about pizza and were afraid to ask. >> why are we not surprised? >> pizza. slice ny.com. you go on here. a weblog about pizza. people have a lot of time on their hands....

Well, let's just say we used to have a lot of time on our hands. Slice now takes up a considerable amount of our nonworking hours.
