Joe's Update: It Is Closing
Amazing what a phone call can clear up. Slice just rang off with the Joe's on the corner of Bleecker and Carmine. The owner there informed us that, "Yes. I think it's closing. Yes."
There was some hedging in there, so we went down to Joe's for lunch today, where it was confirmed that Joe's is indeed closing the corner location. Fans of the little joint will be glad to know that the location three doors down will remain open. And, yes, it's the same owner, not some Ray's/Famous Ray's/Original Rays thing.
We asked about the L&O scene that was mentioned on Curbed. It was filmed inside Joe's, so the pizza shop will be more than just the architectural equivalent of an extra.
