Outside the (Pizza) Box

A pizzamaker in Bayside has invented a simple—uh, I feel like you can't even call this thing a device, it's so simple. Anyway, it's a cardboard insert with fold-out handles that nests inside a standard pizza box. The insert, the Pizza-Serve Tray, is placed in the pizza box first, then the pie is placed atop it. When the pizza reaches its destination, the customer can simply lift the entire pie from the box and place it on the table. The advantage here is that, if you have a pizza party, you can do away with the barrage of boxes with cumbersome lids. The Pizza-Serve Tray also adds extra rigidity to pizza boxes.

Seems like a good idea. We'll even go so far as to give its inventor, Franco Oddo, an unsolicited tip: Print advertisements on the tray so that a client's message is revealed as the pie is consumed. Ad buyers might include paper-towel brands, beer companies, and antacids.
