A Guided Bus Tour of Brooklyn Pizza

20050607BKTour.jpgUrging potential eaters of Manhattan pizza to "fuhgettaboudit"—"everyone knows some of the best pizzerias are in Brooklyn!"—the folks behind the Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour don their Ralph Kramden hats, tug on that big ol' lever, and swing open the bus doors for a guided tour of The BK's better pizza joints.

Departing weekdays from Union Square, the tour costs $45 for adults (pizza and soft drinks included) and $35 for children under 12 and lasts about 4.5 hours. Stops include Grimaldi's and L&B Spumoni Gardens, two perfect summertime pizza stops.

Along the way you'll see: Brooklyn Army Terminal, where Elvis shipped off to Germany in '58; million-dollar homes along scenic Shore Road in Bay Ridge; and locations from such movies as "Saturday Night Fever," "The French Connection," and "Annie Hall."

All aboard!

what?!? No DiFara?!?

Di Fara would be great, but seeing as how it takes up to 2 hours sometimes from order to eating to payment, I'm guessing it would be a logistical nightmare for these folks to work Dom's slice of heaven in there.

i wonder how much pizza people are allowed to eat at each stop.

The price of the tour includes 2 slices and a soda at each stop.

I vote for bringing back the five-borough pizza tour, which had but one tour of duty--and ended up touching only four boroughs. That was some day.
