Grimaldi's to Appear in CBS's 'Love Monkey'

By the way, I got on a jury last week.

My fears of sequesterization ("If the jury's sequestered, this site will fester") did not come to pass. That's not how the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York rolls.

At lunch today I ate at Fascati Pizza. It's good, but it left me hankerin' for some of that hot coal-oven action just blocks away at Grimaldi's.

Objection! Relevance?

Sustained.

Allow me to redirect.

I will prove to you, ladies and gentlemen, beyond a reasonable doubt, two things:

That Grimaldi's will be featured in an upcoming episode of the new CBS dramady Love Monkey, which premieres tonight at 10 p.m. EST on channel 2 in New York City (outside NYC, check your local listings). Unfortunately, I don't know if the vaunted pizzeria will appear in tonight's episode. Allow me to enter into evidence deposition by witness Adam K., who swore earlier under oath that he saw a poster in Grimaldi's window attesting to the fact that it will play a role as location in "an upcoming episode of Love Monkey."

20060117GrimRoute.gifPerhaps more important is the assertion that Grimaldi's is indeed a lunchtime option for jurors when court is in recess for the noontime meal. Anyone looking for a great pizzeria within walking distance of the U.S. District Court in Downtown Brooklyn should take it under consideration that Grimaldi's is a 10-minute walk from the aforementioned courthouse. Again, under oath in an earlier depostion, witness Adam K. attested to the fact that it took him no longer than 10 minutes, at a moderate pace, to walk to the pizzeria in question. He also swore that, at 1:20 p.m. on the day in question, there was no line and that the pizzeria was only about 15 percent full. Given the ultrafast oven-to-table times at Grimaldi's, it is the witness's belief that a juror could walk to the pizzeria, order, eat, and walk back to complete his or her civil service for the day within the allotted one-hour recess.

An aside. Approach your honor?

Yes, what is it counsel?

Grimaldi's is no stranger to being featured on the small screen. It played a small part in an episode of Law & Order

No further witnesses, your honor. This site rests its case.
