In Search of ... New York's Biggest Slice

Koronet Pizza, blogged to Slice from the Flickr photostream of Slice
Just got an AIM from a reader:

SliceReader: "Where's the biggest pizza in NYC?"
NYCSlice: "Koronet."
SliceReader: "Bigger!"
NYCSlice: "???!?"

Anybody out there know of any pizza or slice BIGGER than Koronet?

Benny Tudino's, in Hoboken, was famous for their huge slices.

Those one's in hoboken are the size of my torso. I can't remember the name of the place. AH yes, Benny Tudino's. That's it.

and I know it's hoboken, but, hell, it's easier to access from midtown Manhattan than DiFara!

Last I checked, Hoboken was not in NYC people. Get a grip, it's a nice town but no NYC.

oh, and Koronet rocks the house. How much bigger a slice do you need? I once won a girl's heart by taking her to lunch at Koronet.... ah those halcyon days....

it's accessible by subway.

Koronet has the distinction of being delicious and cheap as well as absolutely enormous. There might be bigger slices somewhere in NYC, but I doubt they are worthwhile.

where is koronet? i think this should be a controlled study... ie. where's the biggest $2 regular slice. $2 at Koronet? looks great if so...

There used to be a place in the LIRR part of Penn Station -- by the haagen daz and Fridays -- wedged behind other "chains" -- the slices were LARGE.

Ljubo's pizza in Westchester Square, Bronx. $2 slice, bigger and better than Koronet's.

Koronet's were $2.50/slice back when I was a freshman... I've graduated since (haven't been back since frosh yr b/c it's gross) but I think it is in the $2.75-3.00 range. It's on B'way btwn 110 & 111... but Sal & Carmine's on B'way ~102 is much better and cleaner (albeit slightly smaller).

And NYC is no Hoboken. But if you pay $1.50 on the PATH (not subway), you can enjoy a mighty nice slice there.

The Path is a spiritual part of the subway. It goes underground, it's cheap, it connects with the 1/9 at 33rd st. What else could you want.

The Caruso's Pizza slices in Penn Station are huge. Penn Station isn't in Hoboken, right?

No, but there's one in Newark.

Moon Pie Pizza on Ave C and 3rd street has huge slices I think they may slice their pies in 6 slices instead of 8
