Paper Cup Lifehack, With Pizza

20060907Cuphack.jpg

The break room was out of paper towels at work today. So, to microwave my square slice, I improvised. I grabbed two paper cups, tore them along the seams, and nested them together to form a makeshift cardboard basket. Bonus: The wax lining on the inside prevents melted cheese from sticking.

microwave?? pizza?? that's just wrong. but that is a great idea.

Well, I suppose freezing the slice is wrong, too. It's just an easy and cheap way to do lunch using leftover slices.

Well, that's nearly Pizza in a Cup! Neat. Reminds me of an early evening on a beach with a camp fire. I'd forgotten the grill so we used flayed beer cans to cook our chicken on. And to keep the aluminum from melting we routinely poured beer over it. The chicken got cooked and all. But it turned out a little too beery. But wait, it gets better. We still needed to cook our potatoes. The top of the beer can was removed and a portion of the beer drunk. Then we jammed/wedged the tater in the can (after washing it with beer of course) and set that in the fire. Unfortunately this did not work as well as the chicken did. Ahhh, good times. Biggles

Good story, Doc Biggles. It reminds me of that ol' beer-can-in-the-chicken-cavity method of roasting. I tried it once. Seemed to work OK. Don't know why I haven't done it since. --Adam

very cool, i do stuff like that. at work they give us plastic plates, but if i need to heat something up, they will melt. so i made things out of the coffee cups which are heat resistant
