Boo! More Scary Pizza for New Yorkers
I'm going to put another scare into New Yorkers. This time, I'm taking you through a horror show of Chicago deep-dish pizza.... More than Hawaiian-style, what Gothamites revile the most is deep dish. I'm gonna stuff your face in it, suckas.
Buckle in, cats. It's gonna be a wild ride. Bwahahaha!

For New York pizza lovers, this is the House of Horrors, indeed. From which all evil emanates:

Just to clarify, deep dish is a style of pizza based on Sicilian pizza. It may be valid to say you dislike the style, but to call it a "horror show" is a bit over the top, don't you think? There are plenty of people who enjoy this style, although to be fair, the franchised Pizzaria Unos (which do not share ownership with the original) are at best pale imitations of the original. If that style of pizza was so horrific, why do you think Saveur magazine recently featured the master of the style, Burt, on their cover?

nr706: Maybe it was not clear, but "Slice Dude" was trying to "scare" New Yorkers with a gallery of deep dish pizza. There are some people who would go so far as to call it a "horror show."
Slice Dude is an equal-opportunity offender, so he also made a horror show out of NY-style pizza. That was to "scare" the Chicago folks out there.

I have lived in Chicago most of my life outside of a 5 yr stint in the NYC, and a few yrs in Denver, and Albuquerque. All of my friends, and everyone I know in Chicago, for the most part, view the whole "Deep Dish" thing as a tourist craze. There are a TON of thin crust places in Chicago, and everyone I know prefers thin crust. I for one really never order stuffed or deep dish unless I am entertaining out of town guests.
PS - picture from spiffystephy - TOTAL hottie!!!
