A New Look: Slice Redesign Rolling Out Tonight
Posted by Adam Kuban, November 14, 2007
Hey folks. Just a heads-up to let you know that if anything is a bit borky this evening, it's because we've just rolled out a redesigned Slice. The new look incorporates elements of the old but does so in a crisp, clean new way. I think you'll find it refreshing. I know I do after all these years.
The biggest changes are tabbed navigation above the main column and an easier-to-read list of pizza entries by location over in the right-hand column there.
The new tabs simply break out existing material and make it easier to access. Those tabs include:
- Maps: The Maps page collects maps for each borough as well as one for all coal-oven pizzerias in New York City. I'll also be rolling out a nationwide map soon of all places Slice has visited outside New York
- Video: The Video page collects all videos we've ever run on Slice, whether they're third-party or Slice-produced. (You can further refine your video viewing to all Slice-produced video: Slice TV)
- Reviews: The Reviews page lists all reviews Slice has either linked to in various media outlets or that we have written ourselves
- Recommended: The Recommended page is a hodge podge of some of our favorite posts, our top-choice pizzerias, a handful of books we like and think you should read, and other fun slice-and-pie miscellanea
- Serious Eats: And the Serious Eats tab simply links back to our parent site
Take a look around, poke about, and let us know if you encounter any bugs. We've worked hard to ensure that there aren't any, but you never know.
Last but not least, many, many thanks to Raphael, our awesome web developer at Serious Eats who is responsible for what I think is an awesome new look.
If you don't see the changes or things look ultra wack, try clearing out your cache.
