IMtel: Motorino and Rosa's

IM + intel = "IMtel." Here's a bit of received wisdom.

[screennameredacted]: got a bit of slice intel for you: a) wouldn't worry yet about the slice curse on motorino; went there last night with 3 friends and all four of our pies were easily 9/10s. maybe a little too much charring on one of them but otherwise terrific. also, i think i recall you once saying the SE offices were near FIT; the margherita slice at rosa's on 27th and 7th is truly a hidden gem, well worth trying it out. trust me on this one. everything else there is garbage though.

NYCSlice: Yes, that's our office location. Will try Rosa's on Monday! Thanks, [screennameredacted]!

Ate at Motorino tonight, it was fine. that is it Just fine, nothing Special.
I found it over priced for the smallish, thinly topped pizza.
Finicky but messy and uneven.
Uneven both in the way it was cooked and the toppings. I dont like all my toppings on one slice and the other slices empty, but that may just be me.

I will never crave this pizza, Plus Forninos is so close, why not go and get something special.

Last but Not least, our Motorino waiter wouldnt shut up!

I have lived in your neighborhood for 5 years and have tried most of the pizza by the slice 5 blocks in any direction. Rosa's is actually not bad, taken in light strictly in a walking distance or drunken latenight sense. I think the best in the area by the slice is Rocco's on 7th and 20th, tastes like it has a little fresh basil in the sauce. What do you think?

Of course, all of this will become moot when Co. opens, and not a minute to soon!!!

Here's some visual intel from my visit last Friday night:

I liked it enough to plan a return visit this coming Sunday. I'm not sure yet which pies I'm ordering, but you can bet at least a couple of them will include some of his excellent cured meats. That's speck that can be spotted on his seriously red meat slicer.

Ciao,

Paulie Gee

I'm coming from NJ. Is there on street parking at Motorino's?
