In Videos: The Pizza Man in the Visa 'Mambo Italiano' Commercial

In a Q&A in the New York Times today, the paper's advertising columnist answers reader questions. One question:

Who is that wonderful pizza man in the Visa commercial? I love the commercial every time I see it.

I have to admit that I’m not sure I would want to eat a pizza that has run over his back and down his arm. But oh, I sure like to watch that sexy guy.

The short answer: Juan Hermosillo, who works for Pizza Pizza in Ontario.

Now you know where he works; maybe you can watch him in person.

They couldn't afford to pay for the rights to Dean Martin's version of "Mambo Italiano"??

Big mistake, IMHO. That's the classic. NOBODY did that song better than Dino. Or course, you could probably say that about most of the songs Dino sang.

Ontario has good pizza? That is a shocker that anything good comes out of Ontario ha ha ha ha ah!

You guys should use The New Paisans for these, tv commercials. There an Italian American rock band, they rock, check them out.

and The New Paisans do a killer version of Mambo Italiano

Not as good as Dino's.

I agree with the 1st comment "I have to admit that I’m not sure I would want to eat a pizza that has run over his back and down his arm. But oh, I sure like to watch that sexy guy." Ohhh, makes me want to eat pizza every night.

Juan is also a member of the US Pizza Team:

He currently lives in Italy, but will be touring Canada in August and September for Pizza Pizza. After that, he is expected to tour the US. If you have any questions on Juan, feel free to let me know at missy@pmq.com, I am working closely with his agent.
