Bogey's Pizza & Guns, a Combination Pizzeria and Gun Shop

20090727-bogeysshop.jpg

Bogey's Pizza & Guns seems like it might be legit, according to the website Neatorama, which found a website, reports of people visiting, and a phonebook listing.

When I called, however, the shop said it was "closed for a couple of weeks," with no definitive date to mark the temporary closing or reopening. I'm still skeptical until I can get verification, but it's fun to think it might be real. And, heck, there have been weirder combos—like this sneaker shop burger joint.

Seeing this, I can't help but think of Quincaillerie Dante, the wonderful shop in Montreal's Little Italy, near the Jean Talon Market. Half the store's devoted to kitchenware, the other half to hunting gear--rifles, camo, all that stuff. Gourmet mag's Montreal issue (a couple of years ago) gave it a look, focusing on the work of cooking teacher Elena Faita, who also happens to be the store's proprietor. Well worth a visit.

There was a guy on BBC News a week or so ago who is giving away an AK-47 with every new car purchase.

The guy was a real idiot, too. "God" gave him the right to own guns, etc.

When I was in DC I went into what I thought was a convenience store.
On the outside it said "Department of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms".
They didn't sell any of that. BOY was I surprised!

As someone who loves pizza and guns, I'd love to be able to grab a slice while waiting on the pesky background check, which can take a while some days.

@ Mooner:

Really? An idiot? Did you give him an IQ test or do you just "know" these things? Or perhaps he just doesn't agree with you?

We came across a store in a small town in Kentucky last week that was a combination quilting store/tanning salon.

I wonder if I can order a deluxe pizza and a .45 single action with laser sights for delivery....in 30 minutes or less.

In the sense that our Constitution was divinely inspired. Then God did give him the right to own guns

Declaration of Independence has a few references to God and mentions God. The Constitution mentions God indirectly "secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves"

I am tempted to say "only in Texas", however there is a car dealer in some town in Missouri who is also giving away a free gun with every car purchase. He might have been the guy Mooner is referring to. By that standard, this place is relatively benign. But I would want to know how good the pizza is before accepting it or writing it off.

Not that it even compares, but in Jersey City we have a combo Pizzeria/Video Store and I tried it the other day- not bad.

Alcohol, they need to serve alcohol too.
