I've advocated for Salvatore's of Soho in these pages since their early days.
Excellent product, but, by no means the best slice in NYC.
5-Boro Pizza Guys have missed the mark with this declaration.

@famdoc: Agreed. Salvatore's is very good but not the best. Also doesn't do slices. Unless you're talking slices in the general sense as part of a whole pie.

These stories are always appealing to the media because they root for the underdog (Staten Island gets short shrift in the pizza press, including Slice). So whenever you can write a story that goes counter to conventional wisdom, such that it is, it's "news." (See Alan Richman's Top 25 Pizzas article in GQ.)

A Staten Island pizza review without a Joe and Pat's mention is grounds for immediate dismissal.

I wish Mariano would wrap this game up already.

Oy vey...are they for real?

I agree with Paulie, total lack of credibility based on their decision.

Lots of pizza tours popping up these days, that's for sure.

Those DC boys put out some good lookin' pies.

Always love Metro, but I'm going to try Vegas Grimaldi's this time. Actually, I'll probably do them both.
