Dear Slice: Vertuccio's Pizza on the Park

Posted by Adam Kuban, September 21, 2009

Clicking in to the Slice inbox, some intel from FoS Rachel W. about Vertuccio's, that new brick-oven place on North 12th Street (facing McCarren Park) in Williamsburg. --The Mgmt.

Dear Slice, Letters From Our ReadersThe most striking feature of the place is its oven. It's a huge gargantuan machine in the center of the room. The pizza itself was pretty good. Sauce and cheese were great, but we thought the flavor in the crust left something to be desired.

Mine was topped with sopressata, which was damn tasty--better than Motorino's. However, Motorino, as a whole, is still much better.

The owner(?) also comped us a slice of tiramisu, probably since they just opened (last Tuesday).

Anyway, the place is definitely worth checking out, though.
