I love the email I just received from official pizza obsessive Diana Horst (aka dhorst). Witness ...

Today I crossed over to the dark side and made a pickle-topped pizza. I was inspired to do so after some comments regarding pickles on pizza popped up on Girl Slice's post about pineapple on pizza. I happen to love garlicky dill pickles for breakfast with cottage cheese and I also love deep-fried pickles when I can get them.

The pizza consisted of dough brushed with garlic-infused olive oil, mozzarella, Claussen dill pickle slices on half and wedges on the other half and a sprinkle of Parm.

I am not a fan of ranch dressing except with deep-fried pickles, and a dunk into ranch improved the pickle slice.

The verdict: Not bad if one is craving a deep-fried pickle. But it's really not pizza and, unfortunately for me, it's the gift that's going to keep on giving today.

I've attached some photos for your pickle pizza madness viewing pleasure.

Thank you, Diana! This is a hoot.

Hasta la pizza,
Adam

Miss Ellie is not a picky eater. (Or is she making a face? I can't tell. Dhorst?)
