20100806-nyc-pizza-run.jpgThe NYC Pizza Run must be targeted toward that part of the Venn diagram where runners overlap with pizza-lovers. (Though who doesn't love pizza?)

The run takes place on Sunday, September 19, at 10:45 a.m. in Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan's East Village. Participants will run four laps around the park for a total of 2.25 miles, consuming one slice at a pizza station at the end of the first three laps.

Why not a fourth slice after the final lap? Event organizer Jason Feirman (of I Dream of Pizza) says, "I figured a fourth slice at the end might be pushing it. That's a half pie, which many people can't even do without the running!"

You can register for the run here; it's a $35 entry fee, with part of the proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
