Lace Up Your Shoes, Grab Your Napkins for the NYC Pizza Run
The NYC Pizza Run must be targeted toward that part of the Venn diagram where runners overlap with pizza-lovers. (Though who doesn't love pizza?)
The run takes place on Sunday, September 19, at 10:45 a.m. in Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan's East Village. Participants will run four laps around the park for a total of 2.25 miles, consuming one slice at a pizza station at the end of the first three laps.
Why not a fourth slice after the final lap? Event organizer Jason Feirman (of I Dream of Pizza) says, "I figured a fourth slice at the end might be pushing it. That's a half pie, which many people can't even do without the running!"
You can register for the run here; it's a $35 entry fee, with part of the proceeds going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
