Making a Case for Central-Valley-Style Pizza
Reaching in to the Slice mailbag, we've got ...

I'm sure you're getting a million emails from people telling you that you've forgotten their local style of pizza, but I thought I'd go ahead and give this a shot. I'm originally from the Central Valley in California, specifically Fresno, and I know that if anyone from the Valley read your post about the various styles of pizza, they would be surprised to not find theirs.

The two photos here are from everybody's favorite local place, Dominion Pizza (not to be mistaken with Domino's). They make a DIVINE pie; it's amazing. The crust gets crisp and flaky from being baked in a brick oven, and their sauce is heavily but perfectly spiced. They use a 50-50 combination of mozzarella and Monterey Jack to ensure that the toppings don't slide off with every bite into the cheese.
The combination of piles of freshly cut vegetables and meats that they order from a local sausage house makes this pie one of the best I've ever had. Hope I was some help.
Thanks for reading through!
