Robert D.'s Spicy Sausage and Sweet Texas Onion Pizza
"The dough is a thin crust style. My sauce was straight out of the can Cento Plum Tomatoes—not cooked, nothing added. The pizza is topped with a wonderful spicy Italian sausage which I previously grilled on the outside cooker. The sausage is from the local Jimmy's Food Store in East Dallas. The cheese is fresh mozzarella. I also added fresh garlic and sweet Texas onions. Before saucing I brushed some extra virgin olive oil on the pie dough. Finished off the cooked pie with a little fresh oregano from my backyard herb farm."
"My cooking method was to place the pizza stone in a 500-degree gas oven and let it get full pre-heated. I first cooked the thin crust pie on a metal pizza pan before transferring it to the pizza stone to finish off. Mamma mia, I was one happy fella; eating my homemade pie and rooting my Rangers to victory of them Bronx Bums."

"Check out the ash on the side of the pie—I was still figuring out how to deal with the coals and and get the rotation down, since the oven itself wasn't that deep. I must admit that no pie I've ever made in a conventional oven compares. I'm sold on WFO's, now I just need to figure out how to get one in my kitchen!"
