Daily Slice gives a quick snapshot each weekday of a different slice or pie that the folks at the Serious Eats empire have enjoyed lately.

With a name like Slice, one might assume that Slice specializes in, well, slices. While they do have a few available, Slice's main focus is hand-tossed whole pies topped with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, Neapolitan-style. Toppings are fresh and applied with restraint so as not to overwhelm a crisp, evenly cooked crust.

The Georgio ($10.95) is topped with thinly shaved portobello mushrooms and little slices of meaty, tangy pepperoni. Although Slice does delivery, their pizzas are best enjoyed in house since the super-thin crust has a tendency to lose it's crispness in transit. Added bonus? Slice is BYOB, so a few pies and a bottle of wine make for an affordable night out.
