Daily Slice gives a quick snapshot each weekday of a different slice or pie that the folks at the Serious Eats empire have enjoyed lately.

Having recently watched my way through all six seasons of The Sopranos for the umpteenth time, I was more than a little curious to see what Cherry Hill's Tony Soprano's Pizza had to offer.
Located in a South Jersey strip mall, this place wasn't exactly Pizzaland (the pizza place in the opening credits of The Sopranos). Tony Soprano's is decorated with an incredible selection of photos of Tony and crew, Sopranos fan art, and a pretty incredible pencil-drawn collage of Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, and, obviously, James Gandolfini.

While I was secretly hoping for specialty slices to be named the "Paulie" or the "Bobby Bacala," I settled for a cheesesteak slice.
Straying from the typical sauce-cheese-topping convention, this slice was first topped with mozzarella, then gooey griddled cheesesteak, sauce, and finished with a bit of extra cheese (yup, it's American). The dough was crisp enough to stand up to the the fantastically oozy blobs of cheesesteak, and the slightly tart tomato sauce broke up the cheesiness. It may look just "good in a bad way", but it actually was straight-up delicious.
