Is There Really a Terrific Authentic Nick's Pizza in NYC?

If you're watching Castle on ABC tonight you might be wondering, Is there really an Authentic Nick's in NYC?

The answer is no. There's no Authentic Nick's.

Nor is there an Authentic Terrific Nick's or a Terrific Authentic Nick's.

Though the whole flippity-floppity name thing is based on NYC's various Ray's pizzerias. We have Ray's, Famous Ray's, Famous Original Ray's, World Famous Original Ray's, Original Famous Ray's — even a Not Ray's!

For the record, the original Ray's is thought to be the one at 27 Prince Street in Nolita.

As for Nick's, there is a Nick's Pizza in Forest Hills, and it's quite good. There's also a Big Nick's on the Upper West Side.
