Start by baking four or five bar-style pizzas with various toppings. They need to be thin, with the sauce and cheese going all the way to the edges. Don't feel like baking your own? Just order a few thin-crust style pies. Even Dominos'll do. Spread some extra sauce around the bottom of a 9- by 13-inch casserole (I used my New York-style sauce recipe).
Layer the pizzas into the casserole dish, adding extra sauce and cheese between each layer. Cut the pizza slices in order to fit into the dish from edge to edge.
Ready to bake
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Finish off the casserole with an extra layer of sauce and cheese, then cover it with aluminum foil and bake on the middle rack for 15 minutes.
If all went well, each crust layer should have softened into a tender, pasta-like texture, but with the distinct flavor of charred pizza crust. Delicious!
