San Francisco: Eat Pizza, Help Japan

Remember the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster in Japan? We have a short attention span, don't we? Well, the Land of the Rising Sun could still use our help, and in San Francisco, there's going to be a tasty, pizzalicious way to pitch in.

Four traveling pizza ovens will meet at Coffee Bar in the Mission District on Friday, May 13 and throw down in a competition "that celebrates the diversity and evolution of the pop-up and traveling pizza ovens in San Francisco." The four outfits (see below) will donate their proceeds to a Japanese Tsunami Relief Fund.

A $12 ticket gets you event admission, 4 pizza-tasting tokens, 1 drink token, and 1 voting token. Whole-pizza tokens ($12) are also available. The Nomadic Pizza Throwdown runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The following pizzamakers are participating:
