Covered in a gooey blanket of American cheese and loaded up with thin-sliced beef, lettuce and tomatoes, this Cheesesteak Hoagie Slice ($3) from People's Pizza in Cherry Hill, New Jersey is the kind of slice that could only exist in close proximity to Philly. Plenty of places in Philly serve up a pizza steak (that's a cheesesteak finished off with with mozzarella and pizza sauce) but this slice takes the pizza-cheesesteak hybrid a step further by introducing the hoagie.

In order to properly appreciate this slice, one must first become acquainted with the subtle differences between a cheesesteak and a cheesesteak hoagie. In Philly if you order a cheesesteak, cheese and steak is pretty much what you get (with or without onions, of course). When you order a cheesesteak hoagie you get all of the cheesesteak stuff plus lettuce and tomato. And when you get a cheesesteak hoagie slice? Well, it's basically an awesomely beefy, drippy cheesesteak hoagie served up on pizza crust that can stand up to the weight of this hefty topping combo. A little crazy? Yeah, sure, but super delicious in a Philadelphia area kind of way.
