Yesterday evening marked the fifth year of New York City's most hotly anticipated pizza event. Slice Out Hunger is an annual event that raises money for Food Bank for New York City, while simultaneously gathering some of the biggest names in pizza under one roof.
Dozens of New York's best pizzerias were in attendance, selling slices for $1 a pop. Each dollar is matched by event founder Scott Wiener's company, Scott's Pizza Tours. 100% of the proceeds go to feed New York's hungry.
People stood in a line that wrapped around the block to get a taste of the city's most celebrated pies. Serious slice lovers made their way around all 43 vendors and grabbed a slice from each, making an overflowing pizza box. The more strategic eaters went straight for the big names—Grimaldi's, DiFara, and Motorino to name just a few—picking and choosing the slices known to be the best (you can see the full list here).
Regardless of the kind of eater, last night was a night for pizza lovers of all ages. Click through the slideshow to see more pictures from the event!
