Valentine's Day Pizza: Discounts, Recipes, and More!
Let's get some deals out of the way first. California Pizza Kitchen is offering (through February 16h) a Valentine's Day menu—one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert for $30. At Papa Murphy's you can get your hands on their $7 "Heartbaker" pie through the 14th, and at Cici's Pizza you can get two buffets for $10, tomorrow only. What could possibly be more romantic than a $20 all you can eat pizza buffet for you and your loved one?
On the more, shall we say, upscale, side of things, Motorino is doing another Valentine's Day heart-shaped pizza special this year, at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. It's the perfect happy medium between showing you care and not having to actually do anything!
But if you want to go the personalized, home-cooking route, your kitchen prowess is bound to sweep your lover off their feet with these sweet (literally and metaphorically) takes on pizza.
How to Make a Heart-Shaped Pizza
Remember how I just told you Motorino was serving heart-shaped pies tomorrow? Well, a while ago we at Slice asked chef-owner Mathieu Palombino to show us how it's done, so if you want to make your own, check out our video.
How to Make Heat Shaped Pepperoni Slices
If you've gone through the effort of making a heart-shaped pizza, you might want to finish it off with a few of these bad boys: heart shaped pepperoni slices. You can buy the cutters as part of a set here, and in case you want a little guidance, we've got it all broken down for you in this slideshow. I'd also highly recommend drizzling on a little spicy-sweet Mike's Hot Honey at the end, to round it all off.
And for dessert (what Valentine's is complete without a hefty dose of sugar?), check out our roundup of sweet pizza homages, from the more traditional nutella-stuffed pizza to the more whimsical peepza rustica.
If you've already got everything all planned out, and you're just left looking for the perfect way to express yourself...MTV, of all places, has pulled together a list of 9 cards to say "I love you" via a panoply of pizza-themed puns.
Do you have any particular pizza plans for tomorrow (a pizza proposal perhaps?)? Let us know about them in the comments!
