Bask in Its Warm Glow
Love at first sight. I'm guessing not much has changed since 1958.
Okay, at least one change: it used to be located in East Paterson, the former name of Elmwood Park, scrapped in 1973 to disassociate the town from Paterson.
The patriotic red, white, and blue continue along the side.

The Menuboard and Ovens
If only all menus could be this beautiful.
Open until 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. for all your late-night pizza needs.
All Hail the Mighty Calzone: "YOU'LL LOVE IT!"
I will steal this amazing sign. I will give it to Ben Wyatt. We will become best friends. In turn, I will become best friends with Leslie Knope. Then...I will remember they're fictional characters from a TV show and our life-fulfilling friendships can never be real. I will softly cry myself to sleep.
Don't let Lent stop you from eating pizza and subs! My favorite part: under the suggested list of pizza toppings, "choose one or have them all."
Pie Topped with Basil and Sausage ($16.35)
Not the most evenly-topped pie, but it's still beautiful. Here are more useful words from Adam:
The pizza is delicious. There's no gummy, undercooked dough here. At the same time, it's not crunchy, tough, or overcooked. There's a nice amount of color on the crust and a bit of charring on the underside, along with little bits of crunchy semolina flour left over from the pizza-peel trip into one of the eight hot gas ovens that line the wall behind the staff.
Food for Three
Or too much food for three, perhaps. We shared a pie, a small calzone, and a half-dozen zeppole washed down with birch beers.
Just Another Overhead Shot
Mmm, crunchy semolina flour bits.
Let the hot ricotta and fresh mozzarella flow. You can get it with or without ham.
If a dozen zeppole sounds too daunting, get a half-order like we did. These fried dough nubs are filling.
The mildly chewy texture reminded me of Mister Donut's Pon de Ring, one of my most favorite doughnuts in the world.
