What Domino's Thinks About Pizza Box Drawings

"To be honest, we find this quite hilarious — and love seeing some of our stores going the extra mile to make their customers smile. With that said, we do have to remember we're Domino's, the delivery experts, and not Pixar ... so our first priority has to be, as soon as they come out of the oven, getting pizzas quickly out of our doors and then safely to yours." —Domino's spokesman Chris Brandon

Chain Reaction: Domino's New Sweet Mango Habanero Wings

Domino's introduced a new wing recipe a few months back, and as much as we were dying to try them, we just didn't get around to it until now. But never fear! We ordered them up for lunch last week (both in the new boneless and regular bone-in varieties.)

Chain Reaction: We Order a Domino's 10-Topping Pizza

On Wednesday we saw the Domino's 4/20 Groupon deal that offered a 10-topping pizza for just $8. Great way to celebrate the day, right? Unfortunately the Groupon was only redeemable after the stoner holiday. OK. Whatever that gave us time to poll our Facebook Likees as to what we should top with. And ... and ... Y'all are just cruel. This is what you stuck us with?!?

Watch the UCB Domino's Pizza Commercial Parody

The Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe posted this parody Domino's commercial earlier this week. It sends up both the way Domino's changed its pizza in late 2009 and the fact that you can now get the chain's pizza as carryout for $5.99 — a move that seems to chase Little Caesars Hot-N-Ready deal. Anyway. Watch! Funny. Unicorn!

Daily Pizza Pizza Habit Saves Elderly Woman's Life

You all saw this yesterday, right? Eighty-two-year-old Jean Wilson's daily pizza habit helped save her life. When Domino's delivery driver Susan Guy learned that the Memphis woman hadn't phoned in her usual order (one large pepperoni pizza — Wilson has been ordering that every day for three years now), Guy suspected something was up and told her boss she needed to go check on WIlson, stat.

Awesome Delivery from Domino's

This is great. Fukung.net posted this cute bit in which the customer ordered Domino's online and in the "special instructions" form asked them to draw a unicorn fighting a giraffe inside the pizza box. The response, after the jump.

Domino's Moving into Schools with 'Smart Slice'

Speaking of pizza and health, it seems that Domino's is "striving to be a part of the solution when it comes to promoting healthy, active lifestyles for young people — highlighted by the launch of its Domino's Smart Slice school lunch pizza." Smart Slice is "a white whole-wheat, reduced-fat and reduced-sodium pizza, which is baked fresh and delivered to schools." It's already being served in more than 120 school districts.

Domino's Employee Warning Record

If this personnel write-up is to be believed, the Domino's in question had been employing a pretty subpar assistant manager. I mean, come on, this guy could only recite pi to 46 places. [via BuzzFeed]...

'Your Tax Dollars Are Not at Work Promoting Domino's Pizza'

Remember that story from the New York Times about how the USDA, through an arm called Dairy Management, had paid for marketing Domino's supercheesed pizzas? James McWilliams over on The Atlantic says that's not the case.

USDA Warns Against Fat While Funding Domino's Campaign to Get Us to Eat More Cheese

Domino's Wisconsin 6 Cheese pizza. [Photograph: Robyn Lee] This story in the New York Times is unbelievable yet at the same time depressingly, annoyingly, and frustratingly all too believable. Seems that while at once warning Americans about the dangers of obesity, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has been working with Domino's to get people to eat more cheese. Urged on by government warnings about saturated fat, Americans have been moving toward low-fat milk for decades, leaving a surplus of whole milk and milk fat. Yet the government, through [USDA marketing arm] Dairy Management, is engaged in an effort to...
