Domino's in Taft, California, Sets New World Record

This Saturday they worked 24 hours straight, trying to break the world record for most pizzas cooked in a single-day stretch. They made 6,838 twelve-inch pepperoni pizzas, and a Guinness Book of World Records representative was on hand to certify their achievement. It was "an extraordinary accomplishment for ordinary people," said the Guinness rep, Danny Girton Jr. Get the whole story here....

Only A Third Of Cheese on Domino's New Wisconsin Pie is From Wisconsin

We knew that the new Wisconsin 6-Cheese Pizza from Domino's wasn't made from all Wisconsin cheese. But Ag Weekly has the numbers: according to the Chief Executive Officer of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, only about 33 percent of the cheese on the Domino's pizza is made in the state of Wisconsin. Domino's Wisconsin Six Cheese Pizza

Domino's recently introduced a new Wisconsin 6 Cheese pizza as part of their "American Legends" line. According to their website, it's topped with "robust tomato sauce, cheeses made with 100% Mozzarella, Feta, Provolone, Cheddar, Parmesan, Asiago" and a sprinkling of oregano. I'm not quite certain what "cheeses made with assorted cheeses" means, but we were curious enough to give it a try.

The Bronx Is Burning: Fired Domino's Employee Torches 2 of Chain's Storefronts

A fired Domino's employee in The Bronx set fire to two Domino's storefronts on the morning of August 22, says this New York Daily News report: [Jamal] Thomas held on to his key and uniform, and used both to exact his revenge.He visited several stores in uniform, claiming to be part of a secret Domino's team measuring employee satisfaction. He was really scoping out targets to torch, investigators believe. Both fires were started with pizza boxes inside the stores, the report says....

Chain Reaction: Domino's 'Big Deal Pizza' (Limited Availability)

So apparently Domino's is testing a new pizza in limited markets. The Big Deal Pizza is a rectangular 10-slice pizza that looks somewhat like pan pizza—or maybe even the Big D's answer to Sicilian slices. The only market that I know of that has it, though, is San Diego. So we sent a San Diegan on a mission to procure one....

Video: Domino's Stalks People Who Haven't Tried Its New Recipe

You've gotta hand it to Domino's. The pizza chain is approaching Burger King levels when it comes to viral marketing stunts. In this video they've concocted elaborate personalized ad campaigns for three men who still hadn't tried the new pizza, creating custom billboards and radio spots and going as far as flashing messages on a traffic alert sign and sending up an airplane banner.
