Welcome back to My Pie Monday! There's a great group of pies here, folks! Norma and Jimmyg continue to explore the "epoxy method", Dmcavanagh gives the broiler a shot, and Thezaman makes some pizza bones that any dog (or master) would love.
Aw yeah, it's My Pie Monday time! The originality, creativity, and mouth-watering skills are all on deck this week. Girl Loves Pizza uses mozzarella sticks to smartly create a stuffed crust, Jimmyg brings it Irish style with his Colcannon-themed pie (full disclosure: I had to educate myself on the inspiration), and amusebouche1 makes his sauce from a puree of piquillo peppers. Norma427 continues her Mellow Mushroom experimentation, and dhorst laces her pie's sauce with chiles. Roasted red peppers and pancetta make tinytim a satisfying pie and unpocojmoney produced one of the best homemade Margherita's in the unpocojmoney household to date.There's...
Feast your eyes on this bounty! This My Pie Monday finds us 15 pies strong. First, a warm welcome to newcomers tucra, Nico S, meatballs&milkshakes, redwgn67, and Steve Viterali! There's a hint of spring in the air this go-around and not just with the new growth in Slice'rs. Amusebouche1's asparagus and arugula topped pie and BiereBeer's homegrown arugula pizza get into the season topping-wise, and the spicy pies from Olsonmatt and Imwalkin seems like one way to get things warming up. But some of you are just plain frisky—ahem TXCraig1 and dhorst—both make some pretty good dmcavanagh references. Jimmyg explores some new techniques to an old favorite. Norma427 may be showing some signs of cabin fever with her wacky-shaped fried and baked pie or maybe Girl Loves Pizza with this week's sandwich-inspired pizza. And what says spring more than a the fecundity of wild yeast, which will now have a starring role in effanzo_mane's pies.
There's a great selection of pies on this fine My Pie Monday! Between the Philadelphia tomato pie from Imwalkin, Mmmph's pizza in teglia, John Wozniak's L&B Spumoni-inspired pizza, Dhorst's fried pie, and dmcavanagh's Jet's-style pizza there's an entire appendix to the pizza style guide. Paul T sends us his first submission from his new wood fired oven. Others in the WFO oven club include TXCraig1, who features what has become for him "pizza crack," and RobynB, who sweetens things up with some cinnamon and sugar bananas. From the looks of Atmast's pie you'd think it comes from a WFO, but the spots her crust sports are the work of her electric oven. Girl Loves Pizza cooks up her BBQ chicken pie, a tried and true favorite and Amusebouche1 gives white bean basil hummus a try. Among the experiments this week, Norma conducts a Pepe's pizza throwdown, Jimmyg works some Kamut flour into his dough, and Flaksman fools around with hydration and oven configuration.
Happy My Pie Monday! Here to enhance your President's Day holiday we have eight incredible looking pies. New to the posse is RobynB with a killer ricotta, red onion, and pistachio-basil pesto pie—her special reserve combo to savor last after working her wood fired oven. Welcome! And speaking of special reserve, jimmyg tops today's submission with the last of his winter truffles. TXCraig1's pizza proves that even the simplest of pies can be showstoppers and effanzo_mane seconds the notion with a renewed appreciation for how great a simple cheese pizza can be. Bierebeer's pies get a dose of garlicky heat, and dmcavanagh experiment with a new dough. Also trying out a different dough approach, Norma427 (with the best named pie in the bunch, if I may say so) stretches the pie making limits with some freezer dough. There's even a sweet side to the group with Girl Loves Pizza's Berry Valentine's Day pizza.

Happy MPM folks! A day late, but there is nothing short of excellence in this week's roundup. The dedication to pizza in this group is pretty hardcore. I'm talking vigilante-flour-smuggling-across-borders hardcore. And beyond that there are new hyrbrids cropping up, like dmcavanaugh's Sfincillian, some kitchen chemistry from the first lady of pizza experiments, Ms. Norma427, and the topping ingenuity that we have come to expect from amusebouche1. Girl Loves Pizza shows a simpler, and equally delicious side, to her pizza making and Jimmyg gets back to his New York roots after his hiatus into Bonci-landia. TXCraig1 continues to heat things up in the Lone Star State. Things get fancy-pants in BHKitchen's dough department, and equally fancy when it comes to Shantillypicnic's toppings. And check out Crystaldragon's cure for a bacon craving, and the pickled pepper fix from Atmast.
I'm filling in for Slice Queen Meredith this week and normally more work = less fun, but darned if you Slice'rs don't make this job easy. This week we've got fifteen pies on the menu. As usual, dmcavanagh comes through, this week with two pies! LLTODDJ and Zumicroom both give us their best Neapolitan stylings while nzmick brings a taste of Chicago to the other side of the globe. You'll find a Texan who likes salad on their pie (woulda never thought I'd see the day), more mushrooms than you can toss a crust at from amusebouche1, and roast chicken pie from billgraney that looks so good it could even convert this non-chicken-on-pizza eater.
There's a baker's dozen of beauties in the line-up this fine My Pie Monday! There are at least two first time contributors this week—a warm welcome to feedmittens and Freest Rolexes. TXCraig1 and ESNY1077 break out the heat with Calabrian chiles and fresh jalapenos (note: NOT PICKLED), respectively. Not quite as spicy, but still heating things up, tomdorkey incorporates pepper salami, and red pepper flakes into his topping combo. Check out dhorst's Game Day pizza, looks like someone might be running an illegal pizza delivery operation... Amusebouche1 translates lamb stew into pizza and Girl Loves Pizza spreads on pinto beans, guac, and cheese with her seven layer dip pizza stylings. There may be some Caputo deck oven break throughs from Norma, Olsonmatt has a greek revival moment, Jimmyg combines some "out of this world" toppings, billgraney doubles up on pesto, and dmcavanagh makes a special birthday pizza.
Happy MLK MPM! There must have been a lot of resolutions to get back in the My Pie Monday game because the galleries are chock full of gorgeous pies this week. Happy My Pie Monday! From the looks of things Slice'rs were ringing in the New Year with all kinds of delicious pizzas. Dmcavanagh and Norma427 took the Tuscan track with grape studded focaccia (schiacciata con l'uva). Was there some MPM behind-the-scenes pie coordination there? Amusbouche1 made his annual New Year's smoked salmon pizza, and atmast loaded up on luck for the year with her black eyed pea topped 'Hoppin' Good' pizza. Buffalo chicken and mac n cheese formed a union on Girl Loves Pizza's pie, bacon and onion from olsonmatt made a winning combination, jimmyg got high accolades from a junior pizza lover for his sausage and pepper pizza, and BHkitchen created a New Mexican green chile half and half pie.
This week's My Pie Monday is a special edition featuring some of the craziest pies that your fellow Slice'rs created in 2011. The pies that arrive in the Slice mailbox each week are a source of constant inspiration. There's a lot of personality that comes through in the various styles and toppings. Here we have some of the wackiest ones to pass through the galleries this year! We'll be back to our regular MPM schedule as of next week. Wow. This week's batch of My Pie Monday entries is full of traditionally awesome and awesomely nontraditional pizzas. Arugula seems to be on the brain — maybe it's a way to wish spring into being — and we see it on Alberto's, Scott D.'s, and BillCBP's pies. Some great mushroom pizzas in the bunch too, which brings to mind foraging in the woods, which is what I think Jamesws did for the fungi on his pie. And then there's Norma with deep-fried pizza and Girl Loves Pizza with a chimichanga pie. Other great-looking entries from Tupper Cooks, Burger365, joeindc44, Norma, Robert in Dallas, Ev, thearrogantchef, tom100, and Tscarborough.
