My Pie Monday: Bird's Nest Pizza, Pulled Pork, RAMPS(!) and Much More!

It's My Pie Monday time, Slicer's! There's a great variety of pies in this week's line-up. Toppings are definitely a MPM stronghold, and this week is no exception. Bierebeer represents with a lobster, garlic, and scallion combo, Jamesws combines baby kale and grapes, onepercent99 uses some aware-winning pulled pork, and Hogletboglet finds a new favorite in the Asian-Moroccan flatbread. Of the season, there's an asparagus and prosciutto pie from jimmyg, TXCraig1's asparagus "Bird's Nest" a la Jim Lahey, an earthy leek and mushroom pizza from redwgn67, and, of course, RAMPS! from dhorst. There's an Adam Kuban related shout out in there, but that's not the only one. In response to last week's Home Slice, Imwalkin sent in a Memorial Meatball Pizza. Ev has the ol wood-fired oven turning out good old fashioned NY-style pepperoni pies, Norma is still tweaking her Sicilian pizza for the market, and Npinto has been busy baking focaccia and pizza. Amusebouche1's been working on Tomato Pie, but not the kind you'd find in Jersey. And last but not least, a big My Pie Monday welcome to SaucedTO, who used a combo BBQ/broiler method. More

My Pie Monday: Filetti, Bonci Style, Summer Squash Pizza and More!

It's another gorgeous My Pie Monday here at Slice! Seriously. Every one of these pies looks freakin' awesome. West Coast pizzerias like Una Pizza Napoletana and L.A.'s Akasha served as the inspiration behind Scott D's Filetti and Amusebouche1's squash topped pie. Codfish30 and Forzapizza each created exemplars of the classic Margherita. Jamesws had a rendezvous with his in-laws pizza oven and has a killer arugula topped pie to show for it. Continuing her exploration in Greek territory, Norma427 experimented with low hydration pies and gives a glimpse here. And jimmyg and TXCraig1 have two extraordinary looking mushroom topped pies. My Pie Monday: Cherry Pie, Cauliflower Bacon, Fugazza Pizza, and More!

Yay, My Pie Monday! The grills are out in full force this time around. There's a first grilling attempt, with good looking results from dailywaffle, Amusebouche1 goes mainstream with a grilled Margherita, and Norma427 takes her market pizza recipe for a bbq outing. In the sophomore firing of his wood-fired oven, Scott D creates a South American Fugazza Pizza. Jamesws combines goat cheese, and balsamic onions for a savory take on cherry pie. And atmast brings cauliflower, bacon, and manchego together atop a crust made with a Tartine starter. More

Mmmm... My Pie Monday! This week's entries include a first stab at a clam pie by thearrogantchef, a delightfully colorful warm goat cheese and roasted beat pie from amusebouche1, a pizza made with homemade sausage and peppers from jimmyg, and a mortadella topped pie from Norma427's tireless quest to perfect her Reinhart hybrid. The marinara pizza featured in Adam's Slice review of Forcella inspired DYJ to make one of his own, and Jamesws took a cue from Pizzeria Oceano in xxx and modeled one of his four mini pizzas after their 'Black and White'. My Pie Monday: Braised Fennel and Sausage, Giardinera "Hots", and Korean BBQ Taco Pizza!

It's Monday! That means we've got some new pies to showcase in the My Pie Monday gallery. Finally in the full throes of summer, we're seeing all kinds of grilling going on, from the Little Black Egg from Pizzahunt.net, Jumpyfroggy brings his baking stone to the grill, and Dhorst takes the classic grilling route. Jimmyg works some vermouth into his poolish, Jamesws spices up his white pie with some "hots", and Norma427 incorporates Grecian flavors into this week's pie. My Pie Monday: Bacon Cheeseburger, Scalloped Potato Sicilian, and Much More!

Welcome back to My Pie Monday, gang! We've got the meat and potatoes of pies this week. In the most literal sense, there's the Chicago-style bacon cheeseburger pizza from SlideSF and Ev's Sicilian pizza with scalloped potatoes, Vidalias, and cheddar. Mattsteig breaks out the big guns with a homemade mortadella (yum!) and scallion pie inspired by Chicago pizzeria Great Lakes. In the less literal sense, Jamesws harnesses pizza's essential elements with his tomato, herb, and Parmesan "flat bread". And Norma427, well, this pizza pioneer truly has no limits. She's going straight to the farm, gathering her own grain, and separating the wheat from the chaff! Get in there and check out this week's gallery. My Pie Monday: Cherry Tomatoes, BBQ Chicken, Chili Cheese Dog Pizza(?!), and More!

Summer is coming on in a big way and it shows on My Pie Monday. Garden grown basil makes an appearance on Burger365's pie, and cherry tomatoes appear on pizzas by dhorst and Norma427. Jamesws gets the grill going for pizza and I take a pizza for the grill indoors. The flavors of summer arrive in the form of barbecue chicken from Kitchennoob, and a chili cheese dog topped pie from Amusebouche1! The ladies at Passion4pizza "keep it simple" with a white pie and Chef Snausy makes cast-iron skillet pizza. More

There are some fine looking pies in the My Pie Monday gallery today. In the Margherita class we have a traditional rendition via Damian, a pepperoni topped pie from JeanB, and Ev takes his the Italian Sausage route. ESNY1077 has a mini skillet Sicilian in white, jamesws creates an allium trio with morels, Billgraney goes the bell pepper trio route, there's a veggie bbq pie from James S., shrimp and onions top Tscarborough's pie, and Amusebouche1 finds inspiration at Trader Joe's. Experimenting with an 11-day cold ferment yields some satisfying results for Norma427, and Jimmyg learns a thing or two about Pillsbury flour. More

My Pie Monday: Featuring Peppers, Lobster, Clams, and More!

It's My Pie Monday time! There may have been a little Memorial Day weekend email hiccup (apologies), but all pies missing from last week's post are corralled here. And there are some spicy ones in the mix. Today's gallery of pies include peppers of the homemade, pickled variety from jamesws, an extra spicy cheese sauce on ardubs81's breakfast pizza , and joebeone's spicy sopressata pizza gets some additional heat from sliced jalapeƱos. Sweet peppers make an appearance on square_pie's sausage, mushroom creation, Jimmyg exhibits his freestyle success, Dneblank tops his no-knead dough with clams, and Dhorst brings more fruits de mer on the scene with her Longbow's Lobster Pizza. In addition, Norma427 tests out a new dough mix, ForzaPizza has pictures from the season's first oven firing, and Tscarborough walks the line Provencal with Luque olives, capers, and blue cheese. More
