The Corner Slice: The Best Slice on Bleecker Between Sixth and Seventh Avenues

So we're cheating a little bit this week, since the block between 6th and 7th Avenues on Bleecker is technically subdivided into 4 smaller blocks due to the off-grid street intersections. It's still somewhat of a pizza hot spot in the city though, with three New York joints (Joe's, Bleecker, and ZPizza), a Neapolitan pie joint (Kesté), a Roman pizza spot (Roma), and the New York-Neapolitan pie restaurant John's. But we're interested in one thing: who makes the best order-by-the-slice pizza?

NYC Quintessential: Eat at Joe's Pizza

You could view it as a strange sort of testament to Joe's Pizza in Greenwich Village that we've never formally reviewed it or Daily Sliced it on this site. After all, who doesn't know what Joe's is like?

Joe vs. Joe: A New Pizza Battle Is Brewing

Pino Pozzuoli, the owner of original Joe's Pizza (which moved two doors down Carmine Street from its longtime home on the corner of Bleecker) is involved in a legal fight with his former son-in-law, Guiseppe Vitale, who worked with Mr. Pozzuoli until divorcing Pozzuoli's daughter in 2004. Mr. Vitale then opened a Joe's Pizza of Bleecker Street in Brooklyn as well as two locations in California.

In Videos: Heidi Klum Goes Undercover in Pizza Prank

Project Runway's Heidi Klum went undercover as a pizza clerk as part of a CBS show that airs tonight called I Get That a Lot. The show puts celebrities in everyday, ordinary jobs and films how they react to customers who recognize them--or don't. As Klum tells Entertainment Tonight: "I got to be the pizza girl. I got to be someone I am normally not. I was quite rude to people. I would bite their pizza and give it to them. I would drop the dough on the floor, pick it up and use it." [Video, after the jump....

14th Street and Below: A DJ Bubbles Drive-By

Pizza Box: A new top-5 Manhattan slice contender? Find out below » It's all good in the hood. I am happy to report that the state of the slice below 14th Street in Manhattan could be much worse. I know I haven't hollered at you in a minute, but I've been around town, and I'm about to break it down. In recent weeks, I've traversed all three Villages, SoHo, and several other sub-14 neighborhoods--stopping at joints that haven't been hit by a DJB Drive By and checking in at some of my familiar spots. I've hit up Vinny Vincenz...

Last night at Joe's Pizza (6th Ave and West 4) - m4w Date: 2005-02-04, 1:27PM EST Last night, around 9:11pm I went to Joe's Pizza on 6th Ave and West 4 to get a slice of pizza. I had a grey coat, a red bag and a black NYU rucksach. You were buying an entire pizza pie. We smiled to each other twice. I will never...

Joe's Pizza On 'Law & Order'

RELATED READINGGrimaldi's on Law & Order: Legendary Brooklyn Heights/DUMBO pizzeria Grimaldi's played an important role in a Briscoe-Curtis L&O episode called "Tabula Rasa," about a man who had fled New York and started his life over. This is one of our favorite posts, as it was the first entry of ours to be mentioned by major blog, thereby putting Slice on the radar. The episode of Law & Order filmed at the now-closed location of Joe's Pizza, on the corner of Bleecker and Carmine streets, aired last night. I was cat-sitting a friend's tabby and missed the show, but...
