All pizzas on the menu will be available à la cardiac, and there will be a special porcini mushroom pie as well. Oh, and they're taking reservations at both locations for the evening. So get on that while you can — both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Motorinos had slots available when...
Motorino 349 East 12th Street, New York NY 10003 (near First Ave.; map); 212-777-2644; motorinopizza.com Pizza Style: Neapolitan Oven Type: Wood-fired Price: $11 to $17 Hours: Sun.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-midnight, Fri., Sat., 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Delivery available When Anthony Mangieri closed Una Pizza Napoletana last year it was a loss for lovers of Neapolitan pizza. No one was more passionate--some would say militant--about their pizza than Mangieri, and I don't think anyone produced a more authentic Neapolitan pizza outside Naples. But as much as a labor of love as it was, I often wondered how sustainable Una was in the...

Looks like a lot of East Villagers are in luck. Motorino East Village has apparently expanded its delivery zone to stretch to Houston between Third Avenue/The Bowery and Avenue C. And good news for the folks between Irving Place and Union Square East and 14th and 21st streets; you're now in the zone, too. Bad news for folks just below Peter Cooper Road; looks like the delivery zone up there shrank a little. D'oh! The brussels sprout and pancetta pizza at Motorino. [Photograph: Robyn Lee] I have to reveal something shocking about Girl Slice, the woman I am about to share the rest of my life with: She's not a big pizza-eater. In fact, she pulled a bit of a bait-and-switch on me when we first met. Before we started dating, she told me some story about how she loved the pizza at Joe & Joe in Kensington so much that she ate a whole pie of it one day and then a whole Patsy's pizza the next day. I was like, Whoa....
Update: Motorino's Delivery Zone Expanded to Houston Street Motorino East Village is now delivering. It's a small area the shape of Nebraska were it warped a bit and is bounded roughly by 21st and 9th streets to the north and south and Avenue C and Irving Place/Second Avenue to the east and west. Phone: 212-777-2644 This encompasses all of StuyTown but, it appears, only part of Peter Cooper Village. D'oh! Pizzas can be ordered cut or uncut; specify when calling. And, from the Motorino website, here are reheating instructions (after the jump):...
A Margherita pizza from the East Village Motorino. [Photograph: Philip Given] On Slice parent site Serious Eats, sushiburger says: ... Then we went to Motorino on 12th Street. After hearing all the rave on SE/Slice (for the one in Brooklyn) I decided to try it. We ordered the Margherita. Since we had already eaten a pork bun and half a sandwich, we ordered just one pie (plus, it was like 5 p.m. so no one was there), but the guy working there gave us a weird look and said in the back, "They just want one... no, that's it......
[Photograph: Adam Kuban] Well, it only took me a week, but I've finally processed the photos from last Saturday and Sunday's Pieman's Craft events. You'll find the slideshow after the jump....
From an interview with Motorino's Mathieu Palombino on Gothamist: Are you worried about becoming too popular? On Thursday night there was a pretty long wait for Motorino hopefuls. The way we did Motorino in the city is that we have a much smaller appetizer section, a much smaller pizza section. Because I was very well aware that we had too little seats, and Manhattan is a big city. And there were a lot of people interested. We can turn tables quite fast without cutting into the simple experience that Motorino is supposed to deliver. Meaning you can have your appetizer,...
