Pizza Loader: A DIY Pizza Rack for Your Xtracycle

The Pizza Loader, a DIY project from Xtracycle. This is admittedly niche, but, heck, if you're a pizzeria owner or someone looking for a new career in pizza delivery, this one might be for you. The folks at Xtracycle, makers of the Radish, a sort of extended-wheelbase bicycle with extra room for cargo, have posted instructions on making a pizza-ferrying rack—with parts easily available from Ikea....

Rust in Peace: Pontiac LeMans

In Rob Sass's "Rust in Peace" column, the author quickly analyzes an old stinker of a car telling us why and how it came about and what was so bad about it. I like the column, but he's gotta stop making this joke: "Today, the few survivors are packed mainly with pizzas, living out their remaining lives, like other fading economy cars, in the pizza delivery industry." Wall Street Journal (Sorta) Does the Math: Delivery vs. Frozen Pizza

©iStockPhoto.com/lvinst When I first clicked through to this link on the Wall Street Journal site about the cost of delivery vs. frozen pizza, I thought there'd be some interesting numbers and an illuminating conclusion regarding DiGiorno's ad campaign touting the cheaper price of frozen pies. But, alas, "The Numbers Guy" doesn't really break it down for us. It comes out to a he-said-she-said piece in which chain pizzerias tout their selling points while a Kraft spokeswoman maintains that DiGiorno pizzas are still cheaper. Here's a Tip: Mediocre Pizza Is Better When You Order It 'Well-Done'

For the last year, whenever I've ordered a conventional-gas-oven, mediocre-ingredients-laden, decent-crusted plain pie from my local pizzeria of choice, T&R, I have been specifying that my pie be well-done. Why? Because uncooked, gummy pizza dough may be my No. 1 pizza pet peeve (also known as my "PPP"). Nothing ruins a pizza like a bite filled with raw dough. And you know what?
