Pizza Delivery Violates Ex-C.O.'s Restraining Order

"I told him, 'If Jesus Christ told me to deliver those pizzas, I would have said no.' " Pizza proves indicted guard's downfall [New Hampshire Union Leader]... More

Pizza Flyer Design Considered

Because we work closely with them in our day jobs, the staff of Slice loves graphic designers, art directors, and the rest of their ilk. But sometimes, guys and gals, you just overanalyze everything. (And could you be any more anal about the way your text rags!?) Anyway, a design prof turns his attention to pizza-flyer design on design blog Speak Up: So why are pizza flyers so good, yet so bad? One student repeated a familiar argument: the reason pizza flyers look so bad is because they are put together by people who think that they are designers simply... More

In Alaska, It's Pizza by Plane

Beaver From Flickr member Mr Lunatic Fringe. From InsideBayArea.com: HARD to believe, but Nome has just gotten its first pizza delivery business, a joint that brings gourmet pies to people's doors and even flies special orders to Bush villages hundreds of miles away. For free. It may not arrive hot, but it's all the rage in this Northwest Alaska region where Nome, with its 3,500 residents, had no food delivery options until Airport Pizza launched. Pizza Perv Skeeves Out Our Spidey Sense

Pizza can bring great joy, as evidenced by the poems in our Pizza Haiku Contest. But there is also a dark side to pizza—muggings and murders of delivery drivers, pizzerias as fronts for drug operations, etc. And now, in New York City, it seems like cops are looking at a pizza deliveryman as a suspect in the "Spider Man Rapist" case. The heinous perp in these assaults has been climbing down fire escapes into open windows, assualting women, and then using some sort of wire system to lower himself down to the ground. The deliveryman cops are investigating, Eugenio Aguilar,... More

Outside the (Pizza) Box

A pizzamaker in Bayside has invented a simple—uh, I feel like you can't even call this thing a device, it's so simple. Anyway, it's a cardboard insert with fold-out handles that nests inside a standard pizza box. The insert, the Pizza-Serve Tray, is placed in the pizza box first, then the pie is placed atop it. When the pizza reaches its destination, the customer can simply lift the entire pie from the box and place it on the table. The advantage here is that, if you have a pizza party, you can do away with the barrage of boxes... More

Space Cases

They give you $4.20 off your order if you order within four minutes of 4:20 p.m. I think that explains it all. ...lo and behold, the future is here! This weekend, even, you can have pizzas delivered to you by characters such as Galactic Girl and Captain Fantastic, real Minneapolis folks who will arrive at your house in actual electric cars, and will ring your doorbell while wearing actual homemade lamé capes, jumpsuits, sparkles, and fancy boots (imagine outfits that split the difference between Barbarella, Bjork, and your last last-minute Halloween costume). When you greet them, they will unpack... More
