Astoria's Thirty-One Gutted by Fire
Photographs by Dan Dickinson Thirty-One, the popular pizzeria just steps from the steps of the Ditmars Boulevard elevated train station, was destroyed by fire early this morning, Slice's Queens correspondent reports. Damaged, too, are McDonald's, Twin Donut, and the optician next door. Thirty-One, located at 22-48 31st Street, was well-regarded by many of the neighborhood's pizza lovers and had been recommended to Slice by several of them.
