Reminder: Get Your Slice Shirts

If you've been sitting on the fence about purchasing a Slice T-shirt, you're too late. I've placed the order for the first batch of Slice T-shirts. If you want one and didn't order, email me and I'll put you on the list for the second printing. you better make up your mind soon. I've hit the minimum number of "pre-orders" I need and will be sending the job off to the screenprinter tonight. Only those who have ordered will get shirts. I'm not having surplus stock made. So order now or forever hold your peace. If you've already ordered, you...

Slice Google Map Mashup 2.0

At one point, I had rolled my own mashup Google pizza map, but when the Big Goog released its My Maps feature, I gave up trying to wrassle with code that I didn't quite understand anyway. I realized it would be easier to use the new feature to serve up Slice's local psearch info in a graphical way. I give thee the Slice Pizza Map (NYC Edition). I'm hoping Google keeps refining its technology. I'd like to see custom uploadable icons for place markers and also an easy way to embed My Maps into websites. Only time will tell....

Introducing ... Serious Eats

Ay o, o ay, Slicers. Some news ... For the last few months, I've been working with some folks on a project called Serious Eats. Also part of the project are: Ed Levine, Meg Hourihan, Alaina Browne, Adam "Amateur Gourmet" Roberts, and Roadfood.com. They're all good people, they all have mad passion for food, and they understand what's special about blogging and creating interesting, informative content for the web. Heck, I wouldn't have agreed to work with them if they didn't. Serious Eats launches officially on Monday morning, but I'm giving Slice readers (and readers over at Slice sister site...

Thanks, Readers!

Dear Readers, The email I just received from Scott is only one of many similarly heartening missives I've received in the last month or so. If you've written me and felt like your email has gone down the wrong series of tubes, don't be discouraged. I've read them all and have sorted them away with intent to post them on the site and/or respond via email. I will henceforth make a more concerted effort to respond to your internets sooner rather than later. Why am I so sluggish? Well, in the past I've often used the excuse "work has been...

Slice Google Maps in NY Post

This site was mentioned in the New York Post today in a story about Google Maps mashups. Referring, of course, to our Slice Pizza Map. Nyslice.com lets hungry New Yorkers see the city with topographical pizza goggles on. In other words, the way it was intended. Unfortunately, the paper botched our URL. In other words, their hungry readers will remain pizzagraphically challenged and hungry. Off the Charts [New York Post]...
