Every April Fools Day on Slice, with maybe only one year that I missed, I join the rest of the internet in trying to get one over on the audience. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have repeated a previous year's joke when I claimed that the best pizza in NYC was at Uno Chicago Grill — but I'm not going to go look in the Slice archives to prove myself right.
'pranks' on Serious Eats
Wow. Lame prank. A man posing as a member of Bob Dylan's road crew — wearing a Dylan backstage pass after Bobby Z. played a show at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst — ordered 178 pizzas from Antonio's Pizza in the college town and said he'd pick them up later to deliver to the singer and his entourage. Workers stayed until 5 a.m. to finish the order, and the New Jersey man never showed. The unidentified prankster, through his lawyer, later agreed to pay the $4,000 tab.
This Rémi Gaillard prank would have been cute if the guys who planned it had just stopped at the moment they opened the door for the pizza delivery dude. But what happens afterward and in the second part of the clip is pretty crappy. This video has been making the rounds the last few days. Apologies if you've seen it already....
