The pizza box. A utilitarian cardboard device designed to get pies to our doors in one piece, while keeping them as hot as possible. In our day-to-day experience of them, rarely do we consider them a blank canvas; luckily for us, Scott Wiener...does.
Back in January, we told you that Scott Wiener was hiring new guides for his famed NYC pizza tours. Looks like we're not the only ones whose interest was piqued by his job posting. Scott Rogowsky, of the Running Late Show, swung by for a couple of interviews of his own...and let's just say he has his work cut out for him. Come check out the Scott-on-Scott pizza action!

Tokens are sold at the door and cost $1, each one redeemable for any one of a slice of pizza, a Fizzy Lizzy soda, or a raffle ticket. And we're equally excited to let you know that Serious Eats will be a part of the event this year —we'll be there volunteering, donating items for the raffle, and eating a few slices, of course!
This week's My Pie Monday is a special edition featuring some of the craziest pies that your fellow Slice'rs created in 2011. The pies that arrive in the Slice mailbox each week are a source of constant inspiration. There's a lot of personality that comes through in the various styles and toppings. There's a lot to know about tomatoes. Remember how much Scott Wiener had to say about them just in his post on the San Marzanos alone? There was lots of myth busting going on there, but if you want to hear more from him on the topic of this enigmatic fruit, then you need to get your tomato loving self to the Brooklyn Brainery tonight. Scott will be giving a talk and conducting a tasting in a class that goes from 7:00-8:30pm. Tickets are $15 at the door.

I love this video by Scott "Pizza Tours" Wiener. Even though it's pretty long by web-video standards, I wanted to see more pizza boxes from around the world. Scott's got a pretty vast collection. I don't know where he keeps them all. ... Oh, wait: I do!
