The following is from the New York Times late last week. I forgot to mention it here on Friday. It's a story about the impending subway fare increase and makes the now-obligatory correlation between subway fares and slice prices: These days, pizza routinely costs $2.25 in some neighborhoods. While a slice still goes for $2 in many places, and for even as little as $1.75, a charge of $2.25 is routine in Midtown. One pizzeria in Times Square demands $2.35.
