Slice'r heyandy just mentioned this on Nick's review of Sacco's, and I thought I'd highlight it here, for what it's worth:
"I live around the corner on 54th Street and have eaten many a slice of Sacco's cheese pizza. I'm a bit of a foodie and prefer an older and reheated slice myself. This is Brian Williams/NBC news anchor's fave pizza."
Which is backed up by this item in the New York Post this morning:
When he's in a rush, "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams is a sucker for a New York City staple—a slice and a Coke. The newsman frequently turns up at about lunchtime at Sacco Pizza. "The best thin-crust slice around, and the walk-up window makes it even faster," says Williams, who takes his pizza without toppings. He often dines on the sidewalks of Midtown, where he can be seen savoring the slice while hustling back to NBC headquarters, about a 10-minute walk away.
"He's a customer like anybody else," says co-owner Dominic Accetta. "I've been here 20 years, and he's a nice, normal guy. Sometimes he sits in the back and eats his slice, sometimes he walks away with it, and sometimes he jumps back into a car and drives away—it all depends. He's a busy guy, and New York is a busy place."
Williams also mentioned Sacco's in a 2007 listicle in New York magazine.
