Openings: Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza and Slice House in San Francisco
Tony Gemingnani, not content with a veritable museum of pizza styles at Tony's Pizza Napoletana, has gone and opened a coal-fired-oven pizzeria next door at Tony's Coal-Fired Pizza and Slice House.
After previews and a soft-opening period last week, the pizzeria is now open to the public.
The slice ($3.50) lived up to its titular mission of being "New York style" with a thin, slightly crispy crust, barely sweet tomato sauce, and just the right amount of mozzarella ― Arinell finally has a worthy competitor in the slice arena.
It's getting mostly good reviews on Yelp so far. Any Slice'rs out there with first-hand intel?
