Scott Wiener (Scott's Pizza Tours) emails us that he's once again putting together the annual Slice Out Hunger charity event. Proceeds go to City Harvest. Tickets are sold at the door and cost $1, each one redeemable for any one of a slice of pizza, a soda, or a raffle ticket. (Obviously you can buy more than one ticket if you're hungry and thirsty and feeling lucky.)
Some of the city's noted pizzerias have participated in the past, donating pizzas that are offered up at a central location. (We're still waiting on Scott to find out where that will be.)
Slice Out Hunger will happen Thursday, June 9, 2011 — plenty of time to get it on your calendar. So far, Scott says, he's secured donations of at least 100 pies. ("Last year we had 65, and they were gone in 2 hours," he says — i.e., get there on time.)
If you're a pizzeria or someone who just wants to help, Scott's looking for more pizza donations, raffle prizes, matching donors, pizza servers, etc. You can contact him at scott [at] scottspizzatours [dot] com.
